Unwavering

What is love?

Loving unconditionally…

Tell me what do you see?

When you look at me…

What defines me?

Loyalty?

Humility?

Someone once told me I had

Tenacity…

My capacity to love,

Unwavering…

So many things I seek.

Will you be enough?

Will you ever be what I need you to be?

I’ve given you all of me.

That’s how I love…

Didn’t you know I couldn’t be

Anything but,

What you needed me to be?

Unconditionally…

Tenaciously…

Loving you completely.

I no longer serve your needs,

Yet I hold on.

Willingly…

You hide yourself from me.

Who am I now…

When you look at me?

I’ve become…

Unrecognizable, even to me.

  1. Really like the rhyming scheme here. You're pushing harder to come up with techniques and styles to express yourself in more and more ways. This is good work. I've already relayed my critique, but this is a sturdy piece of poetry.

  3. Even unconditional is conditional. My love for you and your poems is wholly conditional; based on an open mind and understanding. You fucking rock, sweetness. ox I agree with Wookiestyle. Your poem is lyrical.

  4. Chica - you continue to stroke a magical pen with each of these beautiful poems. Whatever the emotion is - love, fear, pain, loss....your words bring that feeling to the surface. Love it, love it, love it...love you!
