Not Real

Something is missing in my soul

Emptiness consumes me

Desperate to feel

Something

Anything

Reaching but you’re not there

Crying out but you can’t hear

I’m not real

My life a dance for all to see

Smile

Laugh

Joke

Your perfect fantasy

But my world is incomplete

Residing behind the glass wall

The wall I’ve created on my own

Each day a piece of me dies

Holding myself still

Watching

Waiting

Reaching but you’re not there

Crying out but you can’t hear

I’m not real

  3. Life is one big act. Some guy named William came up with that thought.

  4. hmm... I can relate to this in a big way, Miss WookiesGirl. There was a point in my life where I literally mourned the death of myself. I am, thankfully, not in that place anymore and have managed to slowly bring myself back to life. As much as it may seem impossible, you can return to REAL. Just don't give up. This poem sits very heavily upon my chest. I understand the meaning deeply. <3

  5. I second Carrie's comment. It's learning to write your own script that is the hard part. Great poem sweetie!
